As we begin to look at the tough online casino blackjack hands it is usually a good idea to start with the soft ace.  These happen all the time.  Remember that the soft ace is any hand with an ace in it and another non face card.  Some are easy to understand since we are not going to hit an Ace-9 or and Ace -8 and probably not an Ace-7.  What about the times where you have Ace-6 through Ace-2?  You always want to hit these hands no matter what the dealer has.  If you stand on these hands it is a long-term mistake.  Let's look at that Ace-7 again.  You should always stand if the dealer's card is 8 or lower and hit if it is higher. 

What about some other trouble online casino blackjack hands?  What do you do with a pair of 8's against the dealer face card?  This is an area of disagreement among the experts as some will say to split while others will say to hit.  The bottom line for me is that 16 against a dealer's 10 sucks.  If I split the two 8's I probably am still in trouble against the dealer's 10 but now it is twice as bad.  Now I have two hands where I am probably in trouble instead of just one.  There is no right or wrong answer for you on 8's against the dealer's face card.  Those gaming people that are aggressive can split them, but those that are conservative will probably just hit and move on.

What do you do in online casino blackjack when you have a pair of 9’s against a dealer’s 9?  This is not the same as the 8's against a 10 where you have a bad gaming situation.   The odds show that if you stand with the 18 you lose 18 percent of your bets, but if you split the 9’s you lose only 12 percent of your bets.  We still are going to lose money in this situation but splitting the 9's is the better mathematical option.
